This is a very affordable discounted safari hunting package hunt in Namibia. This package is offered by a well-established outfitter that has an excellent reputation. They have 109,000 acres (237 sq., miles) of prime free-range habitat with thousands of trophy animals. With Namibia having the greatest free-range plains game hunting on the African continent, you will be hard-pressed to find a better place to hunt plains game than here. The diversity of native species here is typical of the diversity of species found in Namibia.

THE BUDGET SAFARI HUNTING AREAS

This hunting safari will take place on 109,000 acres in North-central Namibia. The area features natural wild animals that have adapted to the harsh conditions of the Namibian desert and mountain environments. The main lodge is a 2-hour drive from the Windhoek airport. The terrain consists of a mix of mountains, valleys, and vast plains.

The diversity of the terrain supports a large variety of antelope, African cats, and birds. More than 20 different species of game can be hunted, including leopard, Hartmann zebra, and klipspringer which are all endemic to Namibia.

NAMIBIA BUDGET SAFARI HUNTING METHODS

This safari will primarily be done by driving and spotting or driving and then hiking to vantage points with a good view and glassing for trophies. Then you and your PH will decide on a plan and begin stalking on foot until a suitable shot is provided. You should be in average to good shape (2-3 on a 5 scale) to be successful on this safari.

This area of Namibia produces some exceptional trophy quality. The outfitter’s Greater Southern Kudu average is around 50’’ – 55” with some bigger bulls exceeding 57” being taken annually. The gemsbok in this area average between 36” – 41” with the females typically having a little more length and the males having thicker bases. There are also good populations of other species typical to Namibia on this concession and there is a good chance you will return home with some exceptional trophies.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • Can I wear camo on this safari?
Camouflage attire is recommended but not required. If you do not have camouflage attire, please wear natural colors such as forest green, brown, khaki, etc. Please do not wear any white or bright colors. In addition, please do not wear any fleece attire, including shoes, as we have many plants with thorns and stickers that will get caught in the fleece. Leather or goretex, broken-in shoes are recommended. No tennis shoes please.
  • Is it difficult to take my firearm with me to Namibia?
Namibia is the most gun-friendly country in Africa. Bringing your gun into the country is extremely easy. Please note that you can only bring a maximum of three rifles with 80 rounds of bullets per caliber. You can fill out the importation form when you arrive at the airport.
Be aware that if you are staying overnight in Johannesburg on your way to or from Namibia, you may have to comply with South Africa's stringent gun importation process unless you remain in transit during your overnight stay.
Many airlines will not allow the transportation of firearms, so be sure to check your airlines policy concerning firearms before booking your flights.
You will need proof of ownership of the firearms. If you are a US citizen, this will require obtaining a CBC Form 4457 from US Customs and Border Patrol prior to departing for Africa.
  • How large is the property?
The area that you will hunt on is 235 sq. miles.
  • Is this hunt in a fenced concession?
This is a free-range fair-chase hunt. There is a low perimiter fence to mark the boundaries but most species of animals can either jump the fence or go under it.
