This is a very affordable discounted hunting safari package in South Africa’s Eastern Cape Near Queenstown. This package is offered by a well-established outfitter that has an excellent reputation. This renowned South African outfitter is located near Queenstown. He has 55,000 acres (126 sq., miles) of prime habitat that has well over ten thousand trophy animals residing on it. With South Africa having the greatest plains game populations on the African continent, and the Eastern Cape being one of the areas with the highest densities of animals, you will be hard pressed to find a better place to hunt plains game than here. The diversity of species here is simply amazing! Seventy species of animals inhabit this game-rich concession. Many exotics have also been introduced here, so in addition to common plains game and the resident herd of Cape buffalo, you might see species such as Nubian Ibex, Sambar Deer, Red Deer, Sable, Roan, Watusi and many others! There are also a few white rhino roaming the concession and some black rhino will be introduced in the near future.
A second kudu, impala and warthog area with an additional second 4-star lodge is also available. This area comprises over 650 sq. miles of pristine hunting area. If kudu, impala and warthog are on your trophy list, you will relocate two hours away to this area to continue your quest for these species.
THE HUNTING SAFARI AREAS
The first part of this hunting safari will take place on 55,000 acres in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. The area features natural wild animals that have adapted to the conditions of the Eastern Cape. The main lodge is a 2-hour drive from East London. The terrain consists of a mix of mountains, valleys and savanna. Once your main species have been taken you will drive 2 hours to an area north of the main lodge to continue hunting for trophy kudu, impala and warthog.
EASTERN CAPE SAFARI HUNTING METHODS
This safari will primarily be done by driving and spotting or driving and then hiking to vantage points with a good view and glassing for trophies. Then you and your PH will decide on a plan and begin stalking on foot until a suitable shot is provided. Some hunting occasionally may be done from a pop-up or permanent blind. You should be in average to good shape (2-3 on a 5 scale) to be successful on this safari, although the camp does feature one wheelchair accessible room and the outfitter can accommodate 1 wheelchair hunter at a time.
The second part of this hunting safari will take place 2 hours north of Queenstown. Here you will hunt your kudu, impala and warthog. You may end up sitting on a waterhole to take your warthog, as it is one of the most reliable methods when it is dry. The kudu and impala will be hunted by driving, glassing and then stalking on foot. Walking is easier in this area, as it is flatter than in the mountains. Kudu hunting will be done by spot and stalk, glassing and possibly sitting over oranges, as kudu just love oranges!
The Eastern Cape produces some exceptional trophy quality. The outfitter’s Eastern Cape Kudu average around 46’’ – 47” with some bigger bulls exceeding 50” being taken annually. The gemsbok in this area average between 36” – 39”. There are also good populations of most species in the area and there is a good chance you will return home with some exceptional trophies.
Other animals are available per the Price List:.
This hunt is available from March – November. Prime time for Kudu is late April – early June!
THE 4-STAR SAFARI LODGES

Cell phone service and internet access are available at the lodge for those of you that want to stay in touch while on safari.
