ABOUT THIS HUNT
This is an awesome deal on a bow hunt that occurs on 22,000 acres of archery only concessions. The daily Rates are only $250 / Day and Observer Rates are only $150 / day. The trophy fees are the lowest I have seen in southern Africa! Why book a package that contains animals you don’t want when you can hunt here and only shoot the animals that you want. Or better yet, just wait and shoot the trophies that the bush gives you! At these prices, you can make your own package and save!
THE HUNTING AREA
This discounted bow hunting safari in South Africa will take place on the border of the Free State and the Northern Cape that is 25 minutes from Kimberly. The privately owned property consists of 4 areas that total 22,000 acres. The main hunting area is 10,000 acres and there are three additional areas of 4,000 acres each to also hunt. These concessions have been archery-only for several years, have lots of animals and have been lightly hunted in the past. There are plenty of big trophies on these concessions!
The area has two different types of terrain. Part of the area consists of savanna-like terrain with camel thorn trees and small rocky outcrops. From the savanna, it drops down a steep hill before flattening out into a large prarie. The bush around the rocky outcrops and down the steep hill is thick and provides the numerous game with good cover. The bottom of the steep hill opens up into wide open plains in some areas. This diversity of terrain allows for the large variety of game found on these concessions. There is always some kind of action going on at the waterholes. This concession is also great for phoyography.
This is first class hunting for excellent quality trophies in archery-only exclusive areas that are not over-hunted. The daily rates are the lowest in Africa for a bow hunt of this quality. And the trophy fees are some of the best I have seen!
THE BOW HUNTING
The bow hunting will primarily take place from strategically placed blinds positioned near waterholes. The hunting area boasts a total of fourteen bow hunting blinds including 2 permanent ground-level blinds and 12 well-constructed elevated blinds.
The best months for this type of hunting are the winter dry months. So July through mid-October is the best time to bow hunt in these areas. With the middle of the day being prime animal movement time in the winter, you can sleep late if you so desire and still have awesome hunting. A typical day will have you going to the blind in the morning while packing a mid-day meal and sitting through the mid-day hours when animals are moving to and from the waterholes. If you haven’t done this type of hunting in Africa before, you are going to be amazed at the amount of traffic coming and going! With the volume of game that you will see, your PH will be invaluable in helping you select the best trophies to harvest.
There are many species on these concessions to choose from so come prepared to harvest some awesome trophies. The trophy fees are some of lowest I have seen. Just a couple of examples are:
Blue Wildebeest $690
Black Wildebeest $690
Kudu (Greater Southern) $1990

THE BOW HUNTING LODGE
During your discounted bow hunting safari in South Africa you will stay at a modern 4-star lodge that has all of the conveniences you would expect. The main lodge is air conditioned, has an entertainment area in the middle and has two bedrooms on each side of it. There are also two rooms separate from the main lodge for those that desire more privacy. The bedrooms feature in-suite bathrooms having large showers. One room has a bathtub for those that prefer a tub. Each room is equipped with two ¾ beds or one king size double bed. The lodge is supplied by permanent electrical power and both cell phone service and internet service are available.
Along with accomanying you to the blind while you are hunting or just relaxing at the 4-star lodge, there are activities available to keep your accompanying guests busy. Some of those activities include:
- Trip to War Museum in Kimberly
- Tour of Kimberly Diamond Mines
- Day Trip to a Spa
- Day Trip for Curio Shopping
- Trip to Cheetah / Cat Reserve – Pet the Cheetahs
- Game Drives
- Game Walks
- Photographing Wildlife from a Blind
You can either fly to Kimberly from Johannesburg and take a short 25 minute drive to the lodge or you can be picked up in Johannesburg and take a 3 hour drive to the lodge. Either way, an overnight stay at the Afton Guest House is recommended due to the late arrival of most flights from the US.
So what are you waiting for? If you have dreamed about bow hunting in Africa for mature trophy animals at a low price while staying in luxurious 4-star accommodations, then this discounted plains game bow hunting safari in South Africa is the hunt for you!
A deposit of $1,000 US per hunter and $250 per observer is due at the time of booking.
The balance of the daily rates plus any additional fees incurred including additional animals shot or wounded are due at the end of the hunt in cash, wire transfer or credit card (Master Card & Visa), prior to departing camp.
A full refund will be issued for cancellations made more than 6 months prior to the hunt. No refunds will be issued for hunts cancelled less than 6 months prior to the hunt, but the hunt may be rescheduled at the discretion of the outfitter. If hunts are moved to subsequent years the client will be liable for any price increases and any currency fluctuations.
