THE BOW HUNTING AREA

This discounted plains game bow hunt in Limpopo will take place on a 70,000-acre privately owned nature reserve that is located in Northern Limpopo. The terrain consists of thick thorny bushes along with some open grassy areas and multiple waterholes. This area is especially ideal for the spiral-horned antelopes including big kudu. The hunting area boasts multiple permanent bow hunting blinds that are all strategically placed on the property's waterholes. Your PH will be very experienced and has a passion for bow hunting. Most of the bow hunting will be done by hunting from the carefully placed blinds, although some spot and stalk hunting can be attempted. This is first-class hunting for excellent quality trophies in areas that are not over-hunted. The daily rates are more than reasonable for a bow hunt of this quality, and the trophy fees are exceptional values for hunting of this caliber.

THE BOW HUNTING

The bow hunting safari will take place on a 70,000-acre privately-owned game concession that offers excellent bow hunting. Most of the plains game bow hunting will occur from strategically placed blinds positioned near a mixture of waterholes and mineral blocks. All waterholes have wells and solar pumps to keep them full.

The outfitter does not feed the animals, as the area is vast enough to provide adequate food sources. The blinds are all well-constructed and positioned to give you excellent shot opportunities. On a brief bow hunting visit in March, I saw 300-500 animals per day with lots of shot opportunities from a one-day hunt from a blind.

With the middle of the day being prime animal movement time in the winter, you can sleep late and still have awesome hunting. With the volume of game that you will see, your PH will be invaluable in helping you select the best trophies to harvest. The season runs from February - October.

The best time for this hunt is from June 1 until September 30 on a new moon!

THE BOW HUNTING TENTED CAMP

During your discounted plains game hunting safari, you will stay at a 4-star luxury tented camp that has all of the conveniences you would expect while hunting in South Africa. There are 4 tents each situated on a raised wooden deck with views of the bush. The tents are well separated from each other for privacy. Each tent has screened windows for ventilation and is of the highest quality. There are 2 beds in each tent. There is also a thatched roof chalet near the lodge that will sleep an additional 2 clients.

So the maximum capacity is 10 beds with double occupancy!

The lodge is situated so you are surrounded by bushveld. There is a firepit outside for relaxing in the evenings. Your accommodations feature African-style high-quality tents on raised wooden decks with double canopies to shade the tents. Each tent features 2 spacious beds, en-suite bathrooms with modern walk-in glass showers, and gas heaters for those chilly winter nights. The lodge is supplied by permanent electrical power and both cell phone service and internet service are available in the camp. The food and service level will be superb. All waterholes have wells and solar pumps to keep them full.

GETTING THERE

Access for this hunt is through Johannesburg, SA. The outfitter will pick you up in Johannesburg and the camp is a 3.5 - 4-hour drive. I recommend overnighting at the Africasky Guest House after arriving in Johannesburg. It adds a travel day, but makes for a much more enjoyable experience, as 2 nights of good sleep removes most of the jet-lag effects.

Deposit Policy

A deposit of 30% is due at the time of booking.

The balance of the safari amount plus any additional fees incurred including additional animals shot or wounded are due at the end of the hunt in cash, wire transfer, or credit card (Master Card & Visa), prior to departing camp.

Refund Policy

Deposits are non-refundable. Safaris can be rescheduled once subject to the outfitter’s available openings. Any safaris rescheduled to a subsequent year are subject to that year’s pricing. Rescheduled safaris are subject to a $150 administrative fee that is to be paid directly to the booking agent prior to the confirmation of rescheduled dates.
