This exciting Forest Elephant hunt in Cameroon will take place close to Cameroon's south eastern border between the Central African Republic and the Congo. The only practical access to this area is by charter flight out of Douala. This outfitter's concessions hold the highest concentrations of Forest Elephants in all of Cameroon. This is the only rain forest in Africa where a true Forest Elephant hunt can be taken.  Cameroon does have a CITIES quota for exporting elephants, but at the present time, US Fish and wildlife does not allow their importation into the US.   This Forest Elephant hunt in Cameroon requires you to stalk extremely close to the elephants in order to determine ivory size.  You may be within 10 yards of these magnificent animals.  They are not known for large ivory, but the hunt is about as exciting as a big game hunt gets!

The Forest Camps

Your hunt will take place from a comfortable forest camp.  Comfortable beds, in-suite bathrooms, electrical power and great food will keep you comfortable.  With years of experience operating camps in these remote areas, you will be in good hands.  Information about the different hunting areas is available via the following link:

Forest Elephant Information

Forest Elephant, also known as Pygmy Elephant, carry a yellowish, mostly straight ivory.  The yellow hue of this ivory, sometimes refered to as rose ivory, is often stained  from the native plant juices, giving the ivory a dark brown walnut shade.

"I looked long and far for a good deal on a lioness hunt.  By far, Discount African Hunts had the best price.  I had the hunt of a lifetime and took a beautiful lioness at close range with my bow.  The Professional Hunter was first class, the lodge was first class and my whole experience was unbelievable.  I will book with John Martins when I return to Africa to hunt leopard  in Zimbabwe.

"I would recommend this hunt although I would recommend John at Discount African Hunts even more. Areas can get hot and cold but John always knows the hot spots to send hunters."

"Totally recommend!"

"First, I wanted to tell you the buffalo hunt with the outfitter you booked me with was great! The PH took me to a farm where there was a good herd of buffalo and I shot a 40” old dagga boy. I could have taken another one a bit wider, 42”, with hard bosses but he did not have that old rough beat-up look I was after."
