Trophy Fee for Western Roan Antelope - $2.000 euros

This exciting hunt for Western Roan Antelope will take place on 660,000 acres of concessions located about a four hour drive from the provincial capital of Garoua.  Access is via the international airport in Garoua, where you will be met and transported to the hunting camp by vehicle.  No expensive charter flights are required on this hunt!

You will be staying in a luxurious camp and will enjoy private chalets  with in-suite bathrooms and fans.  The camps are powered by generators, and feature excellent cuisine and service!  Each camp is equiped with a satelite phone.

This is not just a hunting safari, it is an adventure to wild Africa!

The outfitter's northern concession holds high concentrations of Roan Antelope. The hunting area has the densest population of trophy size Roan antelope found anywhere in Africa. Several 30 inch plus trophies are taken annually! The world record Nigerian Hartebeest was taken in a nearby area in 1998.

The Roan Antelope and most of the other antelope species will be hunted on foot.. During this hunt you may also take Savanna Elephant, NW Buffalo and Western Kob.

Trophy Fees

Western Roan                 2,000 euros

Northwestern Buffalo    1,800 euros

Savanna Elephant          4,000 euros

Several additional sought after savanna species such as sing-sing waterbuck, western hartebeest, Nigerian Bohor reedbuck, western cob and harnessed bushbuck are also abundant in the area. These animals will be hunted in the traditional safari method, driving, spotting and then stalking.

This outfitter has enjoyed a very high success rate for Roan over the last several years!   The hunting area is excellent for all savanna species and ranks as some of the best hunting areas in all of Africa for savanna species.

Hunting season is from January through March, which coincides with the dry season in the north.  Prime time is January and February.

Camp is shared by one and three hunters, each having his own PH and trackers.

Note: Lord Derby Eland are not available during this hunt.

Deposit Policy: Deposit requirements are $8,000 US due at time of booking.  The balance of the daily rates are due 90 days prior to the commencement of the safari.

Trophy fees are due at the end of the hunt and must be paid in EURO cash or be pre-wired.  Refunds will be issued promptly for any ballance not used.

Refund Policy:  If the safari is cancelled more than 6 months from the commencement date of the safari, refunds will be issued less 1,000 euros administration fee.  For safaris cancelled less that 6 months from the commencement date of the safari, no refunds will be given unless a replacement hunter is found.

Testimonials

"In August 2014 I took a lioness hunt with Discount African Hunts in the Northwest Province of South Africa. The PH's worked hard to customize the hunt for me as I wanted a challenging stalk ending with taking the lioness at close range by an open sighted double rifle. They exceeded my expectations as 12 miles of tracking ended with me shooting the highly agitated lioness at a distance of 25 yards with a couple of rounds of 450 NE".

"I highly recommend a lioness hunt with Discount African Hunts."

"This was my first trip to Africa and can positively say it will not be my only one. Words simply can not describe the events of the hunt.  I hunted with both longbow and compound and took a total of 12 animals.  I speak volumes to Discount  African Hunts. These guys know the ins and outs.  Thank you for my first Amazing African Adventure!"

"I spent weeks visiting websites for outfitters in Namibia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe, comparing pre-made packages and regular fees. In the end, for a 7-day, six animal hunt with my son as an observer/hunter, John Martins had the best price."
