This is a killer deal on some great bow hunts on bow hunting-only concessions in the Northwest Province of South Africa. Located only 2 hours from the Johannesburg airport, no overnight guest house stays or additional flights are needed to be able to access some of Africa’s world-renowned plains game bow hunting.
THE BOW HUNTING-ONLY AREAS
These plains game bow hunting packages will take place on multiple bow-hunting-only concessions near Rustenburg in South Africa’s Northwest Province.

The hunting areas consist of multiple farms / concessions that are set up for bow hunting only. The size of the various properties range from 1,000 acres to over 8,500 acres. The terrain varies from rolling hills covered in bushveld to open plains areas.
BOW HUNTING METHODS
The primary hunting method will be hunting from blinds strategically located in proximity to waterholes, food, and salt licks. Both sunken, ground, and elevated blinds are available and the type of blinds varies by the properties being hunted. You will be guided by an experienced PH that is an expert in assessing trophy sizes for these animals. Peak animal movements will typically be during the warmer mid-day hours.
Properties that you hunt each day will be chosen based on the species targeted. Certain properties are better for trophies of certain species, so this variety will keep the hunts interesting, as you will adapt your shots to the various blind’s characteristics.

THE BOW HUNTING LODGE
You will stay at a comfortable 3.5-star lodge that offers individual bedrooms. Some of the rooms are equipped with queen beds, others have 2 doubles each. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms for privacy. Both inside and outside dining is available and the food here is very good. Beer and wine are available with the meals and after dinner. There is a large fire pit for after-dinner gatherings. There are 2 bars, a billiards table, and an outdoor pool. Both internet and cell phone service are available at the lodge.
HUNTING SEASONS
These bow hunts are offered near the new moon from June – October.
June – August is winter in South Africa and a lack of rainfall during the winter and warm temperatures in the daytime create lots of animal movement near the waterholes. Depending on the amount of rainfall in any given year, supplemental feeding is used to keep the animals healthy and this serves as a further attractant to maintain animal traffic near the waterholes.
GETTING THERE
Hunters will fly into OR Tambo airport in Johannesburg, South Africa, and will be met at the airport by the outfitter and driven for 2 hours directly to the hunting lodge. No overnight stays at a guesthouse or additional flights are required for this hunt.
TAXIDERMY
This outfitter uses Splitting Image Taxidermy for both dip and pack and taxidermy. Splitting Image is one of the best taxidermists in South Africa, and also has a depot in Dallas Texas

Deposit Policy: 30% of the package price is required at the time of booking to secure dates. The balance of the package and any additional fees for additional animals taken or wounded are due on the last day of the hunt, prior to departing camp. The outfitter accepts Credit Cards (Visa and Mastercard), debit cards, and US cash.
Cancellation Policy: Deposits are non-refundable but hunts can be extended in the same year or to subsequent years at the outfitter's discretion. Any increase in price or increase due to the exchange rate for hunts that are extended to subsequent years are will be the client’s responsibility. All rescheduled hunts are subject to a $150 administration fee, which will be collected by the booking agent prior to processing the change.
