Story

I booked the hunt through John Martins, the owner of Discount African Hunts. It was a smooth transaction and he provided me with good and accurate information.

I had the time of my life. The hunting location is in the Waterberg mountains and is positively stunning. Weather was warm and dry for the entire 10 day hunt.

The camp was very clean and comfortable, food was great and the staff treated me just like family. You were not just a client, you were family!

My PH Marcel was young, but he put me on 5 great animals, Two will make Rowland Ward and if body size was a factor the bushbuck and zebra would be right up there also. Youth doesn't mean inexperience. The guy is good, I learned a great deal hunting with him.

Unlike the place I went to last year, there is a friendly competition between the PH's to get the biggest animals for their clients. No rush to get everything done, just that they are going to get you the trophies you want. You have to do your part, put in the hours, hunt hard and shoot straight.

The owner Scott runs a very professional operation yet still makes you feel like you never left home.

Additional Info

This 10 day package safari was a fantastic experience. I learned many new hunting skills and made new friends.

I recommend that you bring a gun that you shoot well. I suggest you use premium bullets. Leave the unused ammo behind and it will be much appreciated.

I would go back and do it again in a heartbeat. I'm going back. That says it all. Thanks to Discount African Hunts for setting me up on a fantastic plains game safari.
