Story

Despite my father being an avid deer hunter and having many avid friends who hunt, I never fancied myself a hunter. However, after living in Africa for several years, I decided I should give it a try. I spent weeks visiting websites for outfitters in Namibia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe, comparing pre-made packages and regular fees. In the end, for a 7-day, six animal hunt with my son as an observer/hunter, John Martins had the best price.

Reaching out to him through his website, he responded promptly and was a good source of information. We narrowed it down to two packages from different companies, and he provided his thoughts in comparing the two. In the end, based on our unique situation, the decision was fairly easy and the package and outfitter I selected were phenomenal. Despite my son and I being first time game hunters, the outfitter was very supportive and seemed just as excited for my son's first trophy as we were.

Additional Info

Similar to another post, the most important thing is physical conditioning. The PH told my son and I that he was able to push us harder to go after big game because we were in better shape than most hunters. It made the hunt more challenging, which made it more memorable.

Recommendation

John Martins did a good job staying in contact with me between the initial booking and the hunt. His support in terms of accepting both the down payment and the final payment made the hunt logistics easier. He reached out during the hunt to ensure it was going well and followed up afterwards to see if we were happy. Overall, I found John very professional and accommodating--I will not hesitate to use him again or recommend him to my friends. Thanks John!
