Story

An email from John mentioned there were a couple of bulls that had recently been introduced to a game ranch in South Africa for the purpose of improving the blood line, instead, they turned on the lead bull that eventually had to be put down due to injuries and had a attacked a farm hand and a couple of vehicles. Not pleased with the newcomers, it was decided that they would have to be removed"¦ soon and at a great price.
It was to be a new location for me, NW of Johannesburg with a quality outfitter.
The first two days we hunted in thick country and had two bulls break out of a thicket 20-30 yrds away and move through the bush like a freight train with no time for a shot.
Third day we moved in to open country, spotting the bulls at 150 yds with no cover between and no chance of getting closer.
My PH asked if I could take the shot- I shoot a Chapuis 9.3x74r double, using 286g Hornady soft nose, regulated to 100yds with a1-4 Leopold PigPlex and was comfortable with the distance (I know, long for a double gun)
First shot took both shoulders, second backup just behind shoulder and out the other side, bull on the run took 3rd shot at 190yds and heard the bullet hit home on left quartering shoulder.
Moving up on a very sick buffalo, dropped it with a final broadside, that also went clean through, a couple of insurance shots closed the deal..

Recommendation

I had gotten an email from John Martins of Discount African Hunts, John has been around for a while and knows many African professionals and is able to put together some really incredible deals, many don't last long, it's first come first serve and many are standing deals for the current or following year all offering great savings. Don't let the name "Discount" fool you, you're dealing with professional outfitters and many big names in the industry.
John comes up with "crazy affordable" pricing on great hunts.

This was a great experience!
