Dangerous Game Hunting Safaris in Namibia

Dangerous game hunts in Namibia offer the modern day big game hunter a wide variety of choices. All of the dangerous seven big game Animals of Africa are available in Namibia and are currently huntable.  The terrain that these big game animals are hunted in varies widely and this makes hunting in Namibia a popular place to hunt dangerous game.  Namibia does not allow dangerous game to be hunted with a bow, so all dangerous game hunting safaris in Namibia are conducted using firearms.  The .375 caliber is the minimum required by law for dangerous game hunting safaris in Namibia.

One of the primary destinations for dangerous game hunts in Namibia is the Caprivi Strip.  The Caprivi Strip is a narrow extension of land that extends westward from Northern Namibia all the way to the Zambia and lies between Angola and Botswana.  The Caprivi Strip is a primary big game hunting destination in Namibia and offers all of the big 5 except rhino.  Elephants travel with regularity between Angola and Botswana’s Okavango Delta.  Large herds of buffalo roam these areas also.  Hippopotamus and crocodile are found in the Linyanti River and in the Okavango River as it passes through the Caprivi Strip.  Cape buffalo hunting in the Caprivi is recognized as one of the great dangerous game destinations in Africa to hunt a trophy Cape buffalo.  The area is known for having good numbers of buffalo and also produces some magnificent trophies.

Other prominent areas to take a dangerous game hunting safari in Namibia include Kaokoland, Bushmanland, and the Erongo mountains.  Namibia is also home to one of two populations of desert elephants.  Population estimates range between 150 to 400 desert elephants.  Desert elephant populations are slowly rising and some limited hunting for these magnificent animals is allowed.  Occasionally, a giant tusker is harvested in other parts of Namibia.  Bushmanland has produced some magnificent elephants over the last few years.

Etosha National Park has a healthy population of lions, and occasionally, a problem lion permit becomes available for properties adjacent to the park.  These lion hunts offer some of the most affordable wild lion hunting in all of Africa.  Spotted hyena are also available and are taken when hunting lions. All of this variety makes dangerous game hunts in Namibia  hard to beat!

"I booked a plains game hunt in South Africa through Discount African Hunts.  The price was half of what other outfitters were selling the same package of animals for.  After being assured by John Martins that this offer was for real I went ahead and booked.  Everything turned out just like I was told and I took 7 beautiful trophies on the trip of my lifetime.  Don't let the low prices hold you back.  I am sure I will never take a hunt of this quality again at a price like I paid. My hunt was awesome!"

"I spent weeks visiting websites for outfitters in Namibia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe, comparing pre-made packages and regular fees. In the end, for a 7-day, six animal hunt with my son as an observer/hunter, John Martins had the best price."

"I looked long and far for a good deal on a lioness hunt.  By far, Discount African Hunts had the best price.  I had the hunt of a lifetime and took a beautiful lioness at close range with my bow.  The Professional Hunter was first class, the lodge was first class and my whole experience was unbelievable.  I will book with John Martins when I return to Africa to hunt leopard  in Zimbabwe.
