Forest Elephant Hunting Safari in Cameroon's Rain Forest

This exciting hunting safari for Forest Elephant will take place in southern Cameroon's rain forest close to the border with the C.A.R and the Congo. This outfitter's concessions hold the highest concentrations of Forest Elephants in all of Cameroon. Access is by charter plane from Douala. The hunt will utilize pygmy trackers and will be conducted out of a comfortable camp consisting of individual huts featuring in-suite bathrooms. During this hunt you may also take your choice of either a Forest Sitatunga, Dwarf Buffalo or Bongo.

Still, Cameroon offers big game opportunities for hunters that are willing to seek them out. Dangerous game hunting safaris in Cameroon occur in three primary hunting areas. Southern Cameroon consists of rain forest. Northern Cameroon is primarily savanna. Central Cameroon is a transition area, and therefore is a mix of habitats. Central Cameroon is comprised of open areas that are not assigned to an particular outfitter. Cameroon is one of the few African countries that allows self-guided safaris. This makes hunting in Central Cameroon a destination for those seeking the ultimate Cameroon hunting challenge, a self-guided hunt. Southern Cameroon’s rain forest offers the highest populations of Bongo in Africa. Cameroon offers some of the only pygmy elephant hunting in Africa today. The ivory of these elephants is sometimes referred to as "Ÿrose Ivory”, due to pigments and stains on and within the ivory. Pigmy elephant hunting is not for the faint hearted, as the thick bush requires hunters to stalk within extremely close distances to assess the ivory.
